OCD is not something that causes you to want to clean your room because you like it in order. OCD is not wanting something straightened out, instead of bent. OCD is not liking your notes colour coded. OCD is not wanting clean objects. OCD is a mental disorder.
OCD is a disorder that causes you to do things or feel things obsessively and compulsively. OCD is a horrible feeling on your skin, your brain, or your eyes. You can even do things obsessively and compulsively because something didn't sound right on your breath. OCD affects the way you do things in everyday life, and how you feel during the day. It is a disorder.
For me, OCD is something that causes me to switch my food to both sides in my mouth while I chew, just so it feels even. It is something that causes me to tap my cat with my elbow after I accidentally touched him with the other one, just because it didn't feel right. OCD is something that causes me to try to cough with the other side of my throat because I just coughed with one side, and I want my throat to feel equally scratchy. For me, OCD is eating 36 M&M's so I don't feel absolutely mortified for eating 35, an odd number.
When I accidentally scrape my finger on the edge of my nightstand, I try to do it to the same finger on the other hand so it feels equal. Sometimes when I touch the table with my right pinkie, I'll do it again with my left pinkie. I'll crack one side of my jaw, and try 20 times to crack the other side because it frustrates me that it doesn't feel even. I'll touch a K on the keyboard with my index finger and do it again with the opposite one.
OCD is a disorder that cause me to do things twice, four times, six times, eight times, et cetera. If I touch one side of my face, I must touch the opposing side in a way exactly like I did to the other. It is a disorder that causes me to use all my spoons in my drawer equally so none of them feel left out, even though I know they are inanimate objects. OCD makes me bite both sides of my lip so they feel the same. OCD is wanting to keep things straight and in order because you absolutely cannot function if they are not.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is not a cute or quirky trait that most people possess. It is not a funny quality of a person. It is not even a characteristic. OCD is a lingering feeling that you are going to suffer if you don't repeat or complete an action. OCD is not an adjective; it is a noun.
You are not OCD. You are neat.
this is a topic that really grills my salmon.
people that loosely throw this term around, like "LOL I KEEP MY BINDER ORGANIZED! XXDD :00 I am SO OCD!!!", REALLY piss me off. same thing with people that throw around "ADHD".
both are not cute or funny at all, they're absolutely horrible and ANNOYING to deal with everyday. and the fact that people think they are a quirky trait that so many people carry around GETS ME LIVID.

OCD is an exceptionally bad one for me, and it is not just  the reason I keep my room clean. it's a fucking terrible disorder.

I might add some more later when I remember some examples that I've dealt with.
Thank.

i totally know what you mean

same thing with people claiming they are biPolar
and they just think you have to act crazy then sad the next moment

thats not even half of it

or with people who say they are schizophrenic, and they dont even know what the term 'schizophrenic' means
